"I know that look. You're a writer, aren't you?"

 

The golden goose of the Shelby family, Emmett seems to get everything he ever wanted from his overbearing parents - that's how his twin sister Daisy sees things, anway. A gifted writer from the moment he knew how to pick up a pen, Emmett has always had a passion for telling stories and creating characters... the only problem is, he doesn't seem to know how to put those ideas to paper.

 

It was during one of these bouts of writer's block that Emmett briefly met Jess Spencer, a fellow writer suffering the same problem. Unbeknownst to Emmett, he and Jess had met previously - she was Daisy's childhood friend from school, and as small children Emmett had quite the crush on her, with an eight year old Emmett presenting Jess with a dandelion as a romantic gesture. It wasn't until the pair were reunited a year later that the truth was discovered, and they quickly became firm friends.

 

Seemingly unknown to the naïve Emmett, Jess' feelings for him run far deeper than friendship. Their already-complicated relationship is confused further still by the arrival of Clarice Sparrow, Emmett's first real girlfriend and a general annoyance to anyone she meets. But as the tension between Emmett and Jess builds to a head, forcing him to choose between his bestfriend and his lover, will he make the right call, or risk losing the one person most important to him forever?
