Daisy Shelby

"I'll be that girl who wrote the inappropriately-titled children's book!"

The daughter of millionaire publishing tycoon Arthur Shelby, Daisy Shelby had her entire future laid out for her from the day she was born. Fortunately, she also happened to be fiercely independent and single-minded, and rather than take the path chosen for her by her wealthy parents instead rejected their money to make a name for herself without their help. This brave career choice brought her to the office of Jenny Sinclair and the home of Hugh Darvill... and the rest, as they say, is history.

Now the author of three anthologies of children's short stories (one of which has become an international bestseller), Daisy lives an idylic life with her boyfriend Barney Fields - also the illustrator of her books - her old schoolfriend Jess Spencer and twin brother Emmett, all under the roof of their vain landlord Hugh.

Although strong and confident, looking over the rest of the group in a motherly fashion (particularly when it comes to her brother), she is often prone to overthinking and overreacting when situations get difficult - as seen during an unfortunate curfuffle involving a radio.
